Today I went and got my free fitness assessment at my new gym. The trainer took all my stats and ran the numbers. I’m 163lbs, with 50 pounds of that being basically deemed unnecessary (can’t remember exactly what he said). My internal body age is 31, so 8 years older.
He put me through a short workout and saw that I used to be an athlete, had a strong lower body and core, but my upper body strength can use some work. He said that my arms still have some definition. He doesn’t recommend me to actually go on some insane routine and pay for big packages. Just maybe 6 sessions to learn how to used the different equipment because I’ve never lifted. Also recommended a multivitamin, oils and protein supplement. The money isn’t there for me right now for the training, but maybe someday.
Leaving the gym, my eyes filled up with tears. I knew before even walking in that he was going to tell me all these things. But it was validated and I need to change. For my fitness goals, I told him I want to do a half marathon in the spring and be 140. He said he could get me there in three months if I did it his way and basically stopped drinking. I took the goal of 140 by my birthday (5 months from now).
